Le troubadour Marcabru dans la tourmente du schisme de l’antipape Anaclet II (1130-1135)

Abstract

Résumé : Cet article cherche à montrer qu’au début des années 1130, Marcabru s’engagea dans les controverses qui suivirent le schisme d’Anaclet II. Entre 1130 et 1135, il soutint le légat Girard de Blay, qui combattait Innocent II. Après la fin du schisme en Aquitaine, en 1134 ou 1135, le troubadour rallia à la position de son seigneur le duc Guillaume X, bien qu’un vers de la chanson Bel m’es qan li rana (BEdT 293.11) suggère que son avis sur l’élection de 1130 n’avait pas évolué.

Abstract : This article aims to show that Marcabru was deeply involved in the debates following the controversial election of Pope Innocent II in february 1130. Between 1130 and 1135, the troubadour supported the claims of the pontifical legate Girard de Blay that Anacletus II was the Pope Elected. Once the schism ended, Marcabru did follow the opinion of his lord the Duke Aquitaine William X, although one verse of the song Bel m’es qan li rana (BEdT 293.11) suggests that he still believed that Innocent II had stealed the election.
