L’attenzione all’influsso provenzale in un postillato sconosciuto delle Prose della volgar lingua di Bembo

Abstract

ABSTRACT: In un esemplare della prima edizione delle Prose della volgar lingua di Bembo (1525), con-servato in una biblioteca privata, un finora ignoto chiosatore della prima metà del Cinquecento si rivela (attitudine non comunissima fra i chiosatori coevi) particolarmente interessato al I libro, in cui Bembo discute dell’influsso del provenzale sull’italiano, oltre ad evidenziare con «Nota» una serie di passi del I e del II libro. Aspetti che rendono il postillato meritevole di attenzione: l’identificazione della mano del suo glossatore con quella di qualche erudito dell’epoca potrebbe aprire nuove prospettive di ricerca.

ABSTRACT: In a copy of the first edition of Bembo’s Prose della volgar lingua (1525) preserved in a private library, a hitherto unknown glossator of the first half of the sixteenth century turns out to be par-ticularly interested in the first book, where Bembo discusses the influence of Provencal on Italian, besides highlighting a series of passages from the first and second books by adding «Nota», which is an attitude not very common among contemporary glossators. These features make the annotated worthy of attention: the identification of its glossator’s hand with that of some scholar of the time could open up new research perspectives.
